J. Chester Johnson is a poet, essayist, and translator. He is the author of several poetry collections, as well as the retranslated Pslams for The Book of Common Prayer, which he did with W. H. Auden. He served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U. S. Treasury Department under Jimmy Carter and lives in New York City.
